Mola Foods To Offer Taste of Africa

Mola Food Founder LaFortune Jeannette Djabea

On Friday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m., Mola Foods will offer a Taste of Africa, a unique food tasting experience that will enable attendees to sample food from different parts of Africa. According to Mola Foods Founder LaFortune Jeannette Djabea, a native of Cameroon, the event will peel back “some of the mysteries” that often surround African cuisine.

“Americans are very adventurous with ethnic cuisine from some parts of the world, but there is a lot of misunderstanding about African cuisine,” she said. “My hope is to demystify African foods and excite people about it. African food is flavorful, vibrant, and more approachable than people realize.”

At the event, meat and vegan dishes will be paired with wine from Averill House Vineyard in Brookline, NH, while live music will be performed by Rabihah Ruby Shabazz. “There will be plenty of food, and the atmosphere will be very comfortable,” said Djabea, who said she is purposefully keeping the menu a secret until the night of the event. “I’m hoping to attract adventurous people willing to try something new…I promise you will be surprised and delighted.”

Taste of Africa takes place between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. at Mola Foods, a vibrantly colored space that features seating for 40+. Tickets for the event are $40 per person. To purchase tickets click here.
